Kenn is the founder of Whiskey Weapons & Wisdom and a retired U.S. Army Special Forces veteran with more than two decades of operational experience.   

Twenty years in U.S. Army Special Forces teaches you a hard truth: "Standard Issue" is rarely enough when the stakes are absolute. In the world’s most unforgiving environments, I learned that the difference between success and catastrophic failure lives in the final 5%—the extra mile of preparation, the meticulous maintenance of gear, and the refusal to accept "good enough."

That obsession with precision followed me back to the civilian world. In my professional life, my tool of choice is the Sig Sauer P365XL. To most, it is a high-capacity sub-compact; to me, it is a platform that demands optimization. I’ve spent decades learning that "out of the box" is just a starting point.

By integrating DPM telescopic recoil systems to flatten the snap of the 9mm and utilizing flat-faced precision triggers for a crisp, predictable reset, I’ve transformed a micro-compact carry piece into a high-performance extension of my intent. It’s not about "gear-porn"—it’s about removing the mechanical noise between the shooter and the target.
